Foreword from Crooked Arrow:
Even though fear and the chaos of time threw our spirits into a cycle of reincarnation on this planet there would eventually come a time when it would have to stop. That time is now! The more times you reincarnated the stronger the pull to stay in the material realm becomes. You each are light beings and your spirit longs to complete your mission on this planet so you can once again return to the stars. As energy beings you have within abilities that will connect you more with each other and your spirit will remember. You came here for the experience, you understand the planet and how to raise it to perfect harmony. This knowledge is embedded into each of your spirits as light beings who once spread harmony throughout the universe. It is time to reawaken those latent abilities and let go of the fear and chaos that keeps you from being who you really are. Time to end the cycle of reincarnating. Let go of all fear because fear is learned, understand that anything learned can be removed. Love is the key and the highest vibration there is. Knowing this you will be able to remember and move forward. It is up to each of you to make that choice to open up to your light energy to help the planet.

10 things we can do to help Mother Earth
1. CONSERVE ELECTRICITY – Unplug electrical appliances from outlets after use since plugged appliances still use up little energy. Unplug your phone or iPod chargers when not really charging. It is also advisable to use compact fluorescent (CFL) bulbs, for they have longer life and consume less electricity. These not only help the environment, they also help our parents save their precious, hard- earned money.
2. OBSERVE PROPER TRASH DISPOSAL – Do not let those lessons in school be wasted. It has been reiterated many times by our teachers that we should not throw trash in places where they should not be. Small trash such as candy wrappers should be pocketed when there is no trash bin nearby and dispose of them at a proper disposal area. This makes the environment tidier and at the same time, lessens the work of the street cleaners or sweepers.
3. WALK, OR RIDE A BICYCLE – Going to a nearby place? Why take a car ride if you can walk or ride a bicycle instead. That way, air pollution could be lessened and it may also be an effective way to cut down on gasoline expenses.
4. PATRONIZE MASS TRANSPORT VEHICLES – When traveling to longer distances, ride mass transport vehicles like the MRT or LRT, or jeepneys and buses instead of a taxi. If you do have your own car, it is advisable to share it with friends who have the same destination as yours, and in return, you let them help with gasoline expenses. This can narrow down the number of vehicles on the streets, which in turn, decreases air pollution as well as traffic.
5. FOLLOW THE 3RS – Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. This old teaching is more than just a simple lesson for kids — it is a lesson for each one of us. Buy items that are made of reused or recycled materials which in turn, allow us to have less garbage to dispose.
6. PRACTICE GARBAGE SEGREGATION – Upon garbage disposal, make it a point to sort out your garbage and segregate the biodegradables from the non-biodegradables and the recyclables. This makes it easier to put all the wastes in the proper dump sites.
Biodegradable wastes could be used in making compost pits. Recyclable trash, when segregated from other garbage on the other hand, could easily be brought to recycling joints for re-production.
7. SAVE WATER – It is only natural for us to use more water during this sweltering El Niño summer season. But we could save water in many other little ways - like using a glass when brushing our teeth instead of letting the water run; like using a dipper when taking a bath instead of the shower; or like using a pail and a dipper instead of a hose when watering plants or washing a car.
8. SUBSTITUTE PLASTIC BAGS WITH CLOTH BAGS – The trend on the usage of cloth bags will not be patronized if it does not do us any good in the long run. Aside from being a fashion statement, these bags made from katsa or other natural materials could be used for shopping or buying grocery items. Instead of using non-biodegradable plastic bags, we could use the more durable, reusable, and earth-friendly cloth bags instead.
9. SUPPORT ORGANIC FARMING – Organic farming limits the use of pesticides and other harmful materials in planting produces. We can support organic farming by buying produces directly from the farmers. This not only encourages the farmers to continue their job but it also gives us peace of mind that the products we purchase are surely fresh and healthy.
10. IMPROVE THE GREEN THUMB – If planting trees is too much of a hassle for you, why not try planting small plants and flowers for your garden? All plants, may they be big trees or small flowers, contribute to the cleaning of the air from toxins. Gardening in one’s home not only helps the environment, it also makes the home more presentable and livable. Besides, gardening is a good hobby that can be shared as a bonding moment with friends and family.
It is sad to think that out of the 365 days in a year, only one day is dedicated for the Earth. We are indebted to Mother Nature for nurturing us in every day of our lives. Commemorating that gift in one day is being unfair. Let us put these tips into action in our daily lives, let us live environment-friendly lifestyles. This should be our way of thanking nature — by living without harming it.

More Ideas:
A new look at junk, or change the world, one bit a a time...
Things to discuss when it comes to saving resources...
Recycling is when an object can be shredded, melted or otherwise processed and then turned into new raw material -- for instance, aluminum cans can be melted down to make more cans, glass can make more glass, cardboard and paper make more cardboard and paper, plastic bags and containers can be turned into other plastic products. This takes some energy (very little for aluminum), but it is a good choice.
Reusing is when you find a use for an existing item - like decorating a bag and using it as a gift bag instead of buying wrapping paper; putting leftovers into a clean container from some other food; turning a used box into storage; decorating a can to hold pencils; saving packing peanuts and boxes and using them the next time you need to ship something or give a gift.
It is important to 'reuse' items wisely -- reusing packing peanuts to pack an item is by far the best way to use them. Recycling them, if it is available, would be the next best thing. Turning them into an art project would be the least effective, and eventually they will end up in the landfill. Now many of us love art projects, and would be using materials to make crafts anyway, and so using an item that would otherwise be discarded may still be a sensible choice, it depends on the project. Our Earth Day Messenger Card and Laundry Bottle Pet Food Scoop crafts are great ways of making art out of would-be "junk." For more great ideas on recycled crafts, check out our Earth Day Crafts section.
Giving things in good condition that you no longer need to charity is another good way to reuse things like outgrown clothing or toys. Reusing is often the best way to save resources. This is something to consider year-round, not just around the winter holidays.
Shop Wisely to save resources. Can the container be easily recycled or reused? Will a larger container reduce the amount of packaging and perhaps cost less per serving? Is everything that can be recycled being recycled?
Save resources (and money) by asking yourself if the item is something you really need, and if it is well suited for the task, and if it will last. Not only can this save you money, it can save you space and work, too. Five toys that are loved an played with are more fun than 10 toys that are broken or are boring to play with. And it's quicker to pick up 5 toys and put them away than to pick up 10. Sometimes my kids and I imagine what it would be like if we bought everything we 'liked'..... and we realize that there wouldn't be any room left for us in the house.... and that really doesn't sound like that much fun, even to my kids.
And, when you're out shopping in the stores, bring your own reusable bag instead of taking a plastic bag you'll eventually just throw away.
Plant a Tree Sally Sullivan writes:
I teach a 4 year old preschool class and one of the ways we celebrated Earth Day last year was to purchase trees through the National Arbor Day Foundation to be planted in honor of each child in our class. The trees last year were to be planted in the John Denver Memorial Grove in Aspen. It was only a $1 donation per tree.
We printed up a letter/document for each child telling them about the tree that was purchased on their behalf and how it would help our earth.
Plant-It 2020 is also a nonprofit tree-planting foundation. For every dollar contributed to this foundation a tree will be planted, and the contributor selects where the tree(s) will be planted from an international site list. (click here to visit the Plant-It 2020 site)

World Life Fund - Create Awareness
Earth's Birthday Project - Butterfly and Moth Activity teaching kit, adopt and acre of rainforest, and read about Earth's Birthday with the Zwibble Dibbles.
Earth Day Groceries Project - Increase awareness of Earth Day by making special Earth Day grocery bags for your supermarket.
Earth Day Printables for children - Grab your crayons, colored pencils, markers and scissors for these fun Earth Day printables.
Earth Day Recipes - Celebrate the earth, eat environmentally friendly!
What better way to honor Earth Day than to prepare a dish that's easy on the environment? Our Earth Day recipes feature seasonal fruits and vegetables that are less likely to contain harmful pesticides. (Peaches, apples, sweet bell peppers, celery, nectarines, strawberries, cherries, pears, imported grapes, spinach, lettuce and potatoes typically have the highest pesticide levels, according to the Environmental Working Group in Washington, D.C., while onions, avocados, frozen sweet corn, pineapples, mangoes, asparagus, frozen peas, kiwi, bananas, cabbage, broccoli and papayas have the lowest. Choosing the latter and avoiding the former - unless organic - could slash your family's pesticide exposure by almost 90 percent.) Look for spring gems like asparagus, blueberries, cabbage, cauliflower, mushrooms and peas at your nearest farmer's market. Eating local supports your economy and involves fewer miles traveled - and fewer pollutants emitted - to get dinner on your plate. Whip up some fun for the kids, too, with our "mudpie" cookies and chocolate dirt cups!

Note from Rainbow Warrior Mariah: The Earth has a lot going on right now with the latest earthquakes and volcano activity in Island, and this is becoming more intense in the times to come.
There is also a great deal of emotional turmoil going on with humanity as a collective, and these intense emotions also affect the Earth and weather patterns. Some people with empathic abilities can feel the energies and emotions of the collective consciousness, and becomes extremely overwhelming and debilitating for that person. This is why you experience an onslaught of anger and depression. When this happens hold love and peace in your heart center, and send that love and peace out to humanity as the collective consciousness.
A geosentient empath is a person that picks up the pain of Mother Earth. If this happens and you are geosentient empath, there are ways to help yourself relieve some of those unwanted energies.
Hug a tree and send the extra energy with a clear intent that the energy be used to heal mother earth. Just lean your back against a tree or hug it. Visualize that energy being sent through the roots of the tree down to mother earth. Do this bearfoot. Also you can send it to your house plants or the plants in your garden by just extending your hands over the plants with the clear intent that the energy be used for their healing.
Stand in the ocean or a shallow body of water or even a bathtub with sea salt, and allow the water to carry away the excess energy.
You could hold crystals in your hands, or use crystals on your body to absorb your pain and excess energy, then cleanse them afterward with salt water or in the earth.
Also Advice from askgrace.com
The biggest problem is that the Earth is sick and in pain, and under a constant barrage of attack and torture. Those who harm the Earth do not feel her pain, but people with empathic ability bear the burden of being overly sensitive in an insensitive world, and therefore have a hard time living here. You cannot cut off from your feelings, nor can you armor yourself against them, because numbness is not healing and does not make things better (even if it seems blissfully tempting). The physical symptoms of an empath that you experience are a reminder that you are a healer, and that empathy is a healing gift. Receive the divine healing light from your Source above, let it nourish you, fill you and protect you, then send it out to all who need it, including the Earth. And remember to send love and gratitude to the Earth with each and every breath, because she needs it desperately.
